waking of the sleeping giants

I've noticed something over the last five years that has me thinking and coming to a shocking conclusion...bodybuilding is evolving faster than powerlifting. why? it seems bodybuilding has taken training methods and diets to a whole new level changing and evolving the athlete into something beyond that of bodybuilder from what I've seen. Powerlifting from what I've seen is a stand still. Using and REusing training methods that have been tried over and over again only to end up with the same kind of result every time. Myself being a powerlifter, is a big fan of old school training which is a complete hybrid of bodybuilding and powerlifting...in which forged some of the strongest lifters in history. Don't believe me? Look at the world raw records and tell me how many of them were set back in the 70s and 80s.

11th hour: dogs of war

is there a hero ending here? i'll be honest...there isn't. people these days a blinded by the false sense of fairy tale life. they look for the one "secret" to it all...they seek for that "entitlement" so they can create their own throne in life to sit their asses on preach to the world. everyone wants to be a king. be nice wouldn't it? how about someone telling you you have what it takes to be the "one" and not worry about failing. in this game...its goin to the gym...making gains...gettin noticed...get sponsored... etc..and then live the life in the lap of luxury. probably the same people who believe that a "secret" to this life is all in one "shot". they become a hero to many and remembered as such. here's where the swift kick in the ass comes in cause no of this shit is ever gonna be easy.

one rule.

Programs. Rules. Form. in the beginning...they were necessary...and in some aspects..maybe they are. but they take away from one's fire to be better and to have fun at being the best they can day in and day out. to have people turn on one another just cause they choose to put their energy into hard work rather than rules. my bro Jake asked me what my back and shoulder routine is...my answer was that i just GO! Evan Centopani said the same in one of his videos...that sometimes you just have to GO! George Leeman made a comment in his videos that sometimes the best training program is just fkin wanting it more. You have to put all your energy into doing three things...
1. working your ass off no matter what
2. being the best you can THAT DAY..then repeat.
3. fkin have fun doin it!
too many people take that fun away when they throw all these rules into it. when they stress about numbers..placings...statues..ranks...fk that! do you not have faith in your ability to be stronger? if u do then just GO and fk sh*t up! too many people today are followers cause they believe following a path that is made is the easiest path to success.
why the hell do u think some of the oldest records in powerlifting...are raw records. like in life...there is NO predetermined path that makes one a fr3ak. that's what makes this game always evolving cause everyone isn't the same and not all rules can be unbroken. all rules can be broken. just go an fk sh*t up cause u simply can! when it comes down to being the strongest athlete...you have to be strong ANY WAY, EVERY WAY, and doin it YOUR WAY. leave nothing to chance. leave no weakness unturned. do what the hell you want cause you can. rules were made to be broken by those who choose to be evolve who go by only this rule. STACK. KILL. REPEAT.

stack.kill.repeat.

fr3aks are inhuman machines. we see weight. we destroy it. we aren't in competition with anyone. its ourselves. the hunger to push ourselves to levels unheard of and unseen before in ourselves and others. the method of madness. stack. kill. repeat. that's it. we stay ready for battle cause we train in hell regularly...u don't have to get ready...we fuckin love reps...we love making our workouts harder than they started out...breathin hard...hearin our hearts beating to death...seein our sweat hit the floor and the only thing we think about is "what's next?" its a sickness only a few have. its the only program that we follow...that program is called "fckin wanting it more". our focus has become pure tunnel vision. no amount of words from haters...clowns...and anyone that isn't for this...don't matter. our focus is purely on working hard and wanting more than yesterday. this is about the work. this is about the war against the iron. this is stack. kill. repeat. what the fck are u doing today?

the difference maker

"strength is forged thru adversity"

something i learned while attending RUM 7. this has been the third meet i've gone to where i've watched and might has been the one that made me wake up to a few things. for one...to compete here you have to be on a different level mentally and physically as me and Tony Evans talked about. you can't be all about trying to prove something to someone all day everyday as i have done and know of others who are doin the same right now...that's how you get picked apart. no one feels sorry for you if your only motivation is to "i'll show them who i am" type of mentality. lifts yesterday were as clean as i've seen...not cause the standards were high but cause the competitors that liftted were that damn good. its why Tony belonged there. hardly any egos from what i saw too...everyone was having fun competiting at this level of competition. i came across this two years before. i remembered after that meet Garrett Griffin had advised me to start doin bigger meets. i know why. people know who you are and what your about based on the strength of your competition. everyone knew who arnold was after he dominated mr olympia cause of the level of competition he faced every year. same with any well known bodybuilder or powerlifter. no one remembers that guy who do didn't have any competition.

they remember the guy who emerged from tough field of competitiors. argue this or not. this is fact. i've talked with people who were comfortable proving themselves to people who didn't give a rats' ass about who they are and what they are about other than the fact they love to run their mouths than adding plates. yesterday this was different to those who i met and talked with. they were just hungry to face their competition to be pushed to the next level...something you can't find just anywhere. no one at RUM that i saw was above the sport. none. to me...you know what it is? there were no egos cause lifters that competed were surrounded by real lifters...no fakes...posers...etc...real recognize real. cheesy as fk but its truth.

this has changed my mentality completely. i want to compete at this level not just in powerlifting but bodybuilding as well. i want to compete against the best so i can pushed to the next level...to prove only to myself that i'm capable of being stronger..that i am a greater competitor than yesterday. i met one of my huge souces of motivation in Derek Kendall yesterday and all i can think about is being able to share the same platform with him...weird huh? fck what happens in gyms....fck what some dbag has to say about who i am that never has pushed himself beyond his ego...fck the judgment of someone else cause of how i train...the true measure of ones' strength is based upon "his" challenges that he has faced. pure truth. if it doesn't challenge you..it doesn't change you right? i'm not gonna sit here and tell you that i'm fired up. that should be obvious. lol. making this post is about sharing what i learned to those who follow me and believe in me and hoping that they learn from this...if your gonna be a competitior...be a competitior...not one who poses as one. do "real" competitions and face "real" competitors...that's how u measure how "strong you are".

game of strength

i remembered hearing the throwback stories from my old coach jon grove about how we battled it out with two other guys in his weight class...plate for plate...pound for pound...they bleed and they pushed one another to levels they never even thought about reaching that day but they each wanted to be the best they can be THAT day for themselves. jon told me he's still close to those guys to this day at the time this was told to me which was seven years ago...a true "game of strength"....

THE OVERKILL METHOD: FOR BEGINNERS THE BASICS

ok imagine this...takin the most weight u could for a single and trying to move it as many times past single as you could...would u be stronger? or how about taking the most weight u could do for 10 reps and try to do 20 total...would u get better? think about these as u read along...

swimming with sharks

does anyone remember that guy that competed and was the only one that won his weight class cause he was the only competition? fuck no. why does everyone remember the underdog? cause he has so much against him that winning wasn't possible and made it possible. its why guys like dorian yates...bill kazmaier....mariusz pudinanowski....ed coan...etc...will never be forgotten because their strength was measured against the strongest. that's how you find who you the fuck are. here's another. who the hell are u doin this for? these guys didn't have chips on their shoulders...haters on their asses...posers acting like them...they did it for them and themselves only. i'm slowly starting to realize what sent me to my own prison in the first place.

CHAD AICHS ON BEING HARDCORE by Chad Aichs

I happen to be scanning though some of the powerlifting forums and read a interesting post my Billy Mimnaugh. I usually don’t spend much time reading forums because most of the people are just a bunch of bitches complaining about squat depth, gear, drugs, and other judging problems. Maybe if these people would learn to appreciate all types of lifting and use the internet to as a educational tool, then they could help the sport grow instead of trying to kill it. This does not go for all the people posting, but there are a lot of idiots. I am getting off the subject, i will write about forums at another time. Anyway i have never had the chance to me Billy Mimnaugh in person, but i usually will read a post if i see his name. He has been in this sport for a long time and i usually agree with most of what he says. Plus he is one funny SOB.
